What an SEO audit includes (and how to use it to decide)

Before investing in SEO, it pays to know where you stand. An SEO audit is a review of your website and your presence on Google that answers three questions: what's holding your visibility back, where the opportunities are, and where to start.

A good audit isn't an 80-page automated report listing hundreds of "errors". It's a document you can read and use to make decisions.

What an SEO audit reviews

1. The technical foundation

  • Crawling and indexing: whether Google can find and store your important pages, and whether it's storing pages that shouldn't appear.
  • Speed and the mobile experience, where most searches happen.
  • URL structure, redirects and 404 errors.
  • Duplicate content and canonical tags.
  • Structured data, the code that helps Google understand your business, products or FAQs.
  • Security (HTTPS) and basic Search Console setup.

2. The content

  • Whether each important service or product has its own page.
  • Whether titles and descriptions match what people search for.
  • Pages competing with each other for the same search.
  • Thin, outdated content, or content that doesn't match search intent.

3. Local presence (if relevant)

  • The state of your Google Business Profile.
  • Consistency of your name, address and phone number across other sites.
  • Your reviews: volume, frequency and replies.

4. Competition and opportunities

  • Who shows up today for the searches that matter to you, and why.
  • Relevant searches where you don't appear, or appear far down.
  • Content topics your customers search for that nobody answers well.

What you should receive

At the end of an audit, you should have:

  1. A clear summary of the current state, without unnecessary jargon.
  2. Findings ordered by priority: what has the most impact and what takes the least effort.
  3. An opportunity map: searches and pages worth working on.
  4. A roadmap of what to do first, next and later, and who can implement it (your team, your developer or us).
  5. A baseline: how your visibility looks today, so progress can be measured later.

How to use the audit to decide

The value of an audit is in what you do with it. Some ways to read it:

  • Start with blockers. If Google doesn't index your service pages, no new content will perform until that's fixed.
  • Separate quick wins from strategic work. Fixing titles or completing your local profile takes days; building content for competitive searches takes months.
  • Decide who implements. Your team can do many improvements with clear instructions. Others need development or sustained work.
  • Choose the type of plan based on what you found: local, technical and content, or catalog work. Compare options in how much SEO costs in Costa Rica.

Signs of a bad audit

  • A report generated by a tool, with no interpretation.
  • Hundreds of "errors" without saying which ones matter.
  • Promises of rankings or results by a set date.
  • No mention of your business, your customers or your competitors.

Frequently asked questions

₡175,000 plus VAT, one-off. If you start a monthly plan within the following 30 days, that amount is credited against your first month.

It depends on the size of the site. We confirm the timeline before we start.

What do you need from me?

Your website address and, if possible, read access to Google Search Console and Google Analytics. If they aren't set up, we'll flag it as the first step.

Does the audit commit me to a plan?

No. It's a standalone piece of work. You can use the roadmap with your own team.
